Golf Staff

In the long history of Minneapolis Golf Club, there have only been nine professionals. Today, the club’s Head PGA Golf Professional is Dan Simpson. Dan has been a PGA Professional since 1990 and gained valuable experience as the head professional at three private clubs before coming to the Minneapolis Golf Club.

He and his team of assistant professionals bring a wealth of knowledge to the club and have a mission to help all members and their families enjoy the total golf experience. Thirteen of Dan’s former assistants have become head golf professionals, and he also acts as an Elite Advisor to The Nike Golf Company.

With twenty years as a PGA Head Golf Professional and twelve years at Minneapolis Golf Club, Dan Simpson has the experience to operate any established club. His daily goals are to create an enjoyable atmosphere for every player and to produce great results for the club. He has taught over 3,500 lessons and clinics, organized over 700 golf events, and is considered one of the elite golf professionals in the local community.

Ryan-PaulsonRyan Paulson
Ryan played golf at the University of Minnesota from 2002-2006 where the team won a national Championship in 2002. He has played on various professional tours and also competed in the 2007 PGA Tour School. Ryan taught and gained extensive golf knowledge at Golf TEC where he worked for 3 ½ years. Ryan is our PGA Director of Instruction and has years of teaching experience.

 

Steve Peloquin
Steve graduated with honors from the Golf Academy of Arizona in 2006, during his time there he had the opportunity to work at FireRock Country Club, an exclusive private facility near Scottsdale. Wishing to return to his home state, Steve left Arizona and started working at StoneRidge Golf Club where he has spent the last 10 seasons. This will be Steve’s first season with Minneapolis Golf Club and is currently in the process of becoming a member of the PGA.

Kelly Hurt
Kelly was born and raised here in Rosemount, Minnesota.  Growing up, his focus was always on hockey and lacrosse. After graduating from Rosemount High School in 2008, Kelly attended Northland Community College in East Grand Forks and graduated with a 2 year associate business degree.  Kelly’s golf career started shortly after leaving school.  He moved to Fargo, ND into a tiny apartment that just happened to be across the street from the only golf store in town. Being broke and needing a job, he ventured into Austads Golf not knowing it would change his career path forever.  Kelly spent 2 years being a club fitter at Austads while also working at the Fargo Country Club. Knowing he wanted to continue  his career in golf, he decided to move across the country to Scottsdale, Arizona.  While there, he worked his way up from outside service to assistant professional at Ancala Country Club. That’s also the time Kelly started in the PGA program furthering his education to becoming a PGA professional.

Curtis Klein
Curtis is originally from Waterloo, IA. He played golf at Central College from 2013-2017. Curtis has a background in golf course maintenance and comes from a family deeply intertwined with golf. His father has been a superintendent for 30+ years, as well as an uncle who is a PGA Professional, and an uncle who played on the PGA Tour. He is in his first season as an Assistant Golf Professional.
