Founded in 1916, Minneapolis Golf Club brings together exceptional golf, timeless surroundings, and an active club community. Known for its walkable championship course and welcoming culture, MGC offers a club experience shaped by great golf, good people, and time well spent.

    Minneapolis Golf Club is founded, beginning more than a century of golf and club life in the Twin Cities.
  • 1920s
    Willie Park Jr. and Donald Ross shape the course into the classic layout members still play today, and a new clubhouse rises on the property.
  • 1959
    MGC hosts the PGA Championship, putting Minneapolis on the national golf stage and welcoming the game's legends to its fairways.
  • 1998
    The Dayton's Challenge brings Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Gary Player together for one unforgettable day, raising millions for children's cancer research.
  • 2020
    A comprehensive re-grassing project replaces every blade of grass on the course, with new bentgrass tees, fairways, and greens built for Minnesota's toughest winters.
  • 2024
    A course renovation reimagines every bunker in a style true to the original Park and Ross design, pairing that historic character with modern drainage and new tee options for golfers of every ability.
  • Grill Room Renovation - November 2025
    A complete transformation of the Grill Room into one of the finest dining spaces in Twin Cities golf. New bar, new layout, new design - honoring the classic clubhouse while elevating the everyday member experience.
